Cidade de Deus – City of God - interviews
This year, Paolo Lins was one of the invitees to the Onda Latina cultural festival. Lins' novel „Cidade de Deus“ (City of God) attracted interest all over the world. It's film adaption (see: Cidade de Deus) illustrates daily live in the Slums of Rio de Janeiro in an impressive and pitiless way. We have interviewed Paolo Lins in the Latin america Institute in Vienna and he explained us what the situation in Cidade de Deus is like today (Portugese with German translation)

Nagasaki, 60 years later - interviews
August 9, 1945 at 11:02 a.m. Japan Standard Time: Only three days after the a-bomb attack on Hiroshima (see Hiroshima, 60 years after), the second nuclear bomb ever used in warfare was dropped on the densely populated City of Nagasaki. According to government officials, the attack carried out by the US bomber 'Bocks Car' and the uranian bomb 'Fat Man' was intended to force Japan to capitulate.
